Upgrade to PHP 5.2.4

PHP logoWe have successfully upgraded the PHP version in all our servers with the latest 5.2.4 version. The previous version that we used (v5.2.1) was known to have some serious performance issues due to a bug in that release.

After the upgrade was made, we noticed a sudden boost in the CPU performance of up to 40%. Currently, the PHP information is stated as below:

PHP 5.2.4 (cli) (built: Sep 27 2007 12:03:42)
Copyright (c) 1997-2007 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2007 Zend Technologies
with Zend Extension Manager v1.2.0, Copyright (c) 2003-2007, by Zend Technologies
with Zend Optimizer v3.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2007, by Zend Technologies

We will keep upgrading the PHP version from time to time. Cheers~ Laughing

    Oh… That was great, indeed… after all…

I was so surprised that you guys have finally came out from your shell… I mean, at least we can know what you guys have been doing at the moment through this blog.

There is one more thing that I really want you guys to do…. EXPOSE YOURSELF!

Your “About Us” section in this website is not enough… and this left us, your customers to wonder with whom we were dealing with… Come on guys! Be professional!

At least we can know your organization hierarchy, who is the leader, your pictures, your education background, or maybe your experiences in this business…

By the way, I hope you guys can fix up those annoying “core.123456789″ files in the system.

Because of this, I can’t leave my account more that a month or I will suffer severe headache to delete and fix corrupted files due to space exceeded….

It was totally gigantic disadvantage… at least for me….. ;-)
    Keep Up The Good Job!

  4. Namsahaz Team Says:

    Hi “Sarcastic Customer”,

Thanks for your input. We will write a separate entry about the ‘core dump’ files that you mentioned.

If you must know, core dump file is ‘not’ the problem. In fact, core dump files are created to ’solve’ the problem.

More info about this will be written in the coming entry about “core dump” files. Stay tuned.. B)
